The American College Institute & Circuit (ACIC) is a comprehensive program designed to assist you in every aspect of the admissions process -- researching where to apply, filling out the applications, visiting the most prestigious American Universities to preparing for the required TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or SAT (Standardized Aptitude Test), and writing your critical application essay. Trained college counselors will work with you every step of the way as you turn your dream of going to college in the United States into a reality.
The ACIC provides students with the unique opportunity to experience college life before graduating secondary school by hosting the first half of the program at prestigious Emory University. Emory was recently named by Kaplan and Newsweek as one of America's "New Ivy-League Schools" and will show international students what elite American universities are like.
After completing a week of rigorous, specialized curriculum, students will be taken on an exclusive, behind the scenes tour circuit of America's esteemed and Ivy League colleges and universities. In between these distinctive tours at eight exalted schools such as Yale University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard University, students will also be given supervised tours of historic, entertaining, and educational points of interest in exciting cities like Boston and New York City. Some of the planned sights include a tour of the United Nations, a Broadway play, the Statue of Liberty, a performance by the famous Blue Man Group, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and a backstage tour of television's NBC Studios.
Every student will leave the program with not only memories of America's landmark destinations, but also with a polished college admissions essay, a better understanding of American universities, a list of schools to apply to, tips to improve their chances of being accepted to those schools, and techniques to increase their scores on the requisite standardized tests. Upon graduating from the institute, students will receive their ACIC Diploma, certifying their successful completion of our intensive debate curriculum.
